FAQs
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations and missed appointments:
We are guided by the fee structure and cancellation policy outlined in NDIS Pricing arrangements https://www.ndis.gov.au/providers/pricing-arrangements. We charge under the guidelines and only request 48-hour notice (we believe NDIS 1 week cancellation notice is not fair to our clients) Full payment will unfortunately have to be charged if cancellation is less than 48 hrs. We thank you for your understanding.
COVID safe policy:
Please do not attend our clinics if you have: Tested positive for COVID-19, have been asked to quarantine or if you have any of the following symptoms: Fever, Cough, Sore Throat, Shortness of Breath, Loss of Taste or Smell, Runny Nose, Nausea and Vomiting, Muscle Aches and Pains.
Can I use my NDIS funding for sessions at Creative Therapy Village?
Yes, you absolutely can, depending on how your NDIS plan is managed! We are currently not a registered NDIS provider; however, we are delighted to offer sessions to participants who manage their funds in the following ways:
Self-Managed NDIS Plans: You can easily use your funding with us. We will provide you with an invoice, and you submit the claim directly to the NDIS for reimbursement.
Plan-Managed NDIS Plans: You can also use your funding with us. Just provide us with the details of your Plan Manager, and we will send the invoice directly to them for payment.
Unfortunately, we are currently unable to provide services to participants whose funds are managed directly by the NDIA (Agency Managed).
We understand this limitation can be frustrating, and we sincerely apologise that we cannot assist all NDIS participants at this time. We hope to expand our registration status in the future
Will my therapy be covered by Medicare?
Medicare will not cover therapies such as counselling play or art therapy at Creative Therapy Village, however can include occupational therapy. There are out of pocket costs involved. Sessions are charged $193 per session however Medicare will cover some of this- approx $56 per session for a limited number of sessions. To access occupational therapy for a child under a Medicare plan, your GP may create a Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDMP), also known as a GP Management Plan (GPMP) or Enhanced Primary Care Plan (EPC).
You may also be eligible for a 20% rebate for counselling sessions when you submit your tax return if your annual out of pocket medical expenses (as an individual or family) are greater than $1500. Sliding scale fees are available to individuals facing financial hardships at the discretion of individual therapists.
Do I have to prepare before going to therapy or bring a child to therapy?
No, you do not need to prepare for your therapy session though it does help to think about what you want to talk about. It also helps if you gently explain to your child that they are coming to a very special place that is fun and can help with any worries they have. If you would like guidance on this, let us know we are happy to help! If you wish to bring in notes about things that you want to discuss in the session that can be helpful. Your therapist will gently guide you through the process and the session to help gain insight into what your goals are.Throughout the counselling session, your Counsellor may invite or encourage you to think about (reflect) on the things that are being discussed in the counselling sessions.
What if my plan is Agency Managed (NDIA)?
If your funding is managed directly by the NDIA, you will need to choose a provider who is NDIS Registered. We suggest speaking with your Support Coordinator or the NDIA directly, as they can help you locate a registered provider who specialises in trauma-informed or creative therapies.
